General Role

The President provides overall leadership for IMMERSE and guides the club’s mission, vision, and long-term direction. This role keeps the organization aligned with its goals, supports the executive board and directors, leads recruitment and leadership development, and represents IMMERSE to UCLA, advisors, departments, and outside organizations.

Main Responsibilities

• Set the overall vision, quarter goals, and major priorities for IMMERSE.
• Oversee the executive board and directors to ensure each role is clearly supported and represented within the organization.
• Lead board meetings, executive planning discussions, and major organizational decisions.
• Work closely with the Internal Vice President to ensure general meetings are organized, productive, and engaging for members.
• Work closely with the External Vice President to guide external partnerships, outreach opportunities, conferences, and public-facing collaborations.
• Lead recruitment efforts through the Enormous Activities Fair, campus outreach, informational sessions, and other new-member recruitment opportunities.
• Create and manage the member applications and interview process, including timelines, questions, review expectations, and communication with applicants.
• Maintain communication with the faculty advisor and keep them updated on major club goals, transitions, events, and concerns.
• Support leadership transitions, board accountability, and long-term organizational continuity.
• Help resolve internal concerns or conflicts while promoting clear communication and collaboration.
• Ensure major projects, events, outreach efforts, funding decisions, and media initiatives align with IMMERSE’s mission and values.
• Serve as one of the main representatives of IMMERSE in communications with UCLA departments, advisors, university programs, outside organizations, and major collaborators.
