IMMERSE at UCLA empowers students to build immersive medical education and research experiences that are grounded in science, driven by empathy, and connected to community impact.
IMMERSE exists to accelerate learning and discovery at the intersection of immersive technology and healthcare. We design hands‑on experiences, research collaborations, and community partnerships that transform abstract medical concepts into practice‑ready skills for students and clinicians.
Through project‑based learning, open research, and inclusive outreach, IMMERSE empowers students from diverse backgrounds to build tools and experiences that improve education, advance research, and center human perspectives in healthcare.
We design interactive simulations and VR experiences that help students explore medical concepts in a hands-on and memorable way.
We collaborate with clinicians, researchers, and campus partners to develop solutions that address healthcare education, research tools, and patient-centered technology.
We make STEM and medical learning more accessible through inclusive programs, workshops, and mentorship opportunities for students from all backgrounds.
We center compassion in every project by focusing on patient experiences, cultural awareness, and community-driven healthcare storytelling.
IMMERSE transforms ideas into experiences, research, and outreach that support UCLA students, faculty, and the broader community. Most recently, IMMERSE presented our Parkinson’s VR project at the 6th World Parkinson’s Congress in Phoenix, Arizona, showcasing student research on an international stage.
Help us shape the future of medical education through immersive technology, research, and compassionate community partnerships.
