General Role
The External Vice President oversees IMMERSE’s outside relationships, outreach opportunities, and public-facing partnerships. This role connects IMMERSE with schools, healthcare professionals, researchers, patient communities, conferences, student organizations, and outside collaborators aligned with the club’s mission.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead external outreach to schools, departments, clinics, nonprofits, student organizations, healthcare professionals, researchers, and community partners.
- Identify and coordinate opportunities for IMMERSE to participate in conferences, demo days, showcases, outreach events, educational programs, and community presentations.
- Serve as a main point of contact for outside organizations interested in working with IMMERSE.
- Build and maintain relationships with external collaborators, including physicians, researchers, educators, patient communities, advocacy groups, and technology or healthcare organizations.
- Work with the Director of Public Relations to ensure external events, partnerships, and outreach opportunities are promoted clearly and professionally.
- Work with the Director of Digital Media to identify external speakers, interview guests, patient/community stories, or collaborators who could be featured in podcasts, blogs, interviews, or other media content.
- Help coordinate logistics for external presentations, including communication with event organizers, presentation expectations, member participation, deadlines, and follow-up.
- Support opportunities for members to engage with professionals and communities outside of UCLA through networking, outreach, and collaborative projects.
- Ensure external partnerships and outreach efforts align with IMMERSE’s mission.
- Serve as one of the main representatives of IMMERSE in communications with UCLA departments, advisors, university programs, outside organizations, and major collaborators.
